USF1 Pick European Base

Apart from the issue of weather, why haven't they chosen Britain? Would have been much more logical, seeing as most of the teams either come from here or at least have a base here.

They'll save on transport costs? Many more races on the continent than in Europe?

Funny how they use the TH designed track as a reason to be based there....with the current test restrictions I wouldn't of thought they could get any use out of it?!

The testing rules are somewhat unusual in 2010 with teams limiting their budgets allowed to test more, compared to those more wealthy teams who will sacrifice testing for great freedom regarding engine and chassis design.

I believe US F1 will be firmly in P23 & P24 for the next few years.

Their factory and HQ is in the US, based in Charlotte, NC.

Their base in Spain is a forward operating base for logistical purposes, which I think makes better sense than the UK.

Perhaps not that bad.

Their vehicle development is far ahead of the other two teams, and Ken Anderson is an extremely experienced engineer. Their main problem will be choosing the right drivers.

Those rules are long gone. No two tier system thank god! That saga ended in budgets coming down to 1990 levels or next few years.

Given their doing all the design and engineering in the US there's no reason to be in the UK. Might as well find somewhere sunny and near all year testing just in case the regulations change.
