Got me a pair of plates from Fancy Plates But the rear one, back lit, seems a bit dull.
Any way to increase light power?

Easy answer...Stick in those 12volt 260/200w bulbs you have on your other post, that should do the trick

I think I was the first to get plates for a Chim from FancyPlates. I told them I wanted translucent and reflective - so the first set were just amber perspex! Great for illumination but illegal! Later they e-mailed me to say they had just got hold of the correct materials and sent a replacement. By comparrison it's nowhere near as see-through as the original was so I cleaned everything behind the plate, including bubs/connections and put some reflective foil above the bulbs too. Result = still crap! At MOT time the inspector wasn't happy as he couldn't "see" if the lights were even on but took my word and passed it, but noted it on the form (along with h/lamp adjustment).

look on the bright side...you're less likely to get nabbed after a hit & run...

seriously though..I have the same one's & as Roger said - only just got through the MOT & it was 'noted' but still passed so???

Mine wasnt mentioned in the mot either, thought it great that neither front or rear number plates light up! The best thing the rear number plate lights do is light up the boot space....
