Great drive up to Whitby

Had a wonderfull day 
might be one of the last run outs this year.
Met up with NYtvrcc near Wetherby and set out in two groups of about 20 tvr's
Fantastic scenic drive over the moors then had the parking lottery to deal with in Whitby. Got parked up had some F&C and a look round, Goth weekend so plenty of unusual sights. Then back over the moors home.
Out of all the tvr's there including two wedges i was the only S. Also the only V6.
Taken at the top of Blue bank on the way back.
The water isn't ours.
Got quite dirty, wet roads and plenty of muck even grit near the A1

Looks like you had a fine day for it Alan, i had a last run around locally before putting the SORN in at the P.O., plenty sun but roads wet and mucky

We were made more than welcome last months meet up north of the border - was like we had our own little S club, 6 eSess in all. Andrew is the north east within range for the Cerb yet ??

Why do you feel unwelcome in the TVRCC where you are?Pity you were the only "S" Alan... I didnt have enough time for the run so did my own for a couple of hours and had a blast over Carter Bar into Scotland and back down through Kielder (again...) great roads but got a bit wet...
I also recorded a bit of the drive for Longers but as .mov files they are HUGE... I'll have to look at how I can reduce the size for adding on this forum or link to somewhere

I told you when the monthly meetings were, and where, and that if you were thinking of coming along, to get in touch because a group of us S owners often travel there together over the summer. Then I have no other emails from you until mid-August when you asked me to let you know if the S-owners were planning a run out. That, as far as I can see, is the first time and only you've shown an interest in meeting other local members. As it happens, we haven't, except the monthly meeting last month, when Ian (MsN above) also joined us. I haven't forgotten, but it's the winter so not the best time for runs out.
I've just noticed as I read back, that in that same email in May, you asked about an article for Sprint, and I've missed that somehow. I can only apologise for that. As I say, I did reply as above but missed that bit.
I should also say that as the S-series editor (nothing to do with the local TVRCC meetings) I get 2 or 3 promises of articles every month, and only one actually materialises every 2 months. It's up to people whether they want to write one or not, I can't do it for them (well I can if I have the facts and some photos). All I can do is say, as I've said often over the last 18 months, that if members feel that the S is under-represented in Sprint, then the answer is in their hands. Send your articles in!
You're right, I'd rather not go over this on a public forum, but neither can I leave an implication that you've been made unwelcome by your local TVRCC, when, as far as I know, I'm the only member you've actually met. We get 2 or 3 new faces along every month and make an effort to include people and not leave them on the periphery.
So I'm sorry if you have an issue with me personally. I don't think you should, I hope you don't, but if you do I'm sorry.
In any case though, none of that has anything to do with the local TVRCC. I am not an organiser or any official capacity. I write the monthly reports for the Organiser, but that's it. Otherwise, all I do is turn up. Can I ask you again, to try it, just once, and then decide if you still feel unwelcome.

I have no issue with you and have appreciated the help with the tappet issue. I would have rather have discussed this by email than public forum. I have used a couple of email addresses I have for you and as I said, had no reply. I thought I had offended you. If you do want to reply to this further I would ask you do it by email - I feel it is more apropriate.

I was gutted that I couldn't make it then there would have been two S's there. I only live 15mins from Whitby but had a prior engagement on Saturday. I would like to get along to a club meet and talk to a few other owners to see if it is something I would like to do on a regular basis.

Agreed. However, this is not the appropriate place for you to have made that comment in the first place, which gives entirely the wrong impression of the local TVRCC, who, as I say, you have never met. Cheers.

Again, apologies to the OP - your post captures the very essence of owning an S - those days when the car and the place and the atmosphere and the company all just come together, and make you realise that we're very lucky to have discovered the joys of owning one of these cars - not the fastest, or the prettiest (to some eyes at least), or the most reliable (again, in some eyes) but absolutely wonderful nonetheless.

Recent test flights have looked promising! If you could move the north-east about 40 miles this way I'd be more certain.
We'll have to give it a try next year. Just promise to lay on a bucket of water - all them horses seem to be helluva thirsty sometimes.
