Rumour has it that Asda will heavily discount the RRP (as they did recently with FIFA and Op Flashpoint 2, amongst others) - there's talk on another forum I lurk on of it being offered at £27.
Sounds optimistic to me but I have to drive past one of their stores on the way to work so I have stuck in a reservation. If they're not competitive, I just won't bother collecting it.
Of the online stores, Coolshop seemed to be the cheapest, at £37.96. Plus you can get 8% Quidco cashback on it.

As I understand it, yes.One of these loss-leader lines, with the idea that they'll make more money back by dragging folk in store to do their shopping at the same time, I guess.

Yes, I'd had the same thought!
But I suspect most of their sales won't be to hardcore must-have-it-at-midnight gamers but to far more sane people who spot it while doing their weekly shop
I have no idea whether the whole loss-leader idea works - but they admit that, at the prices they have been offering recently, they sell at a loss, so I can only assume that it must work out otherwise they wouldn't carry on doing it.

They told me when I went in to reserve a copy that the price had still to be decided but that they had been told by Head Office that it would be "very competitive".
Don't shoot the messenger if it turns out to be wholly uncompetitive!
(They also said that the pre-order lists were quite long - I don't know how much stock they're getting but it may be worth reserving a copy. You only pay when you collect, and they give you a receipt which means you can avoid having to queue with the heaving masses at midnight
