They should know, had mine fixed for both of those issues at Picadors......common problem. Should be easily fixed if VX have the parts (had to wait a few months for mine)..

Please let us know about the front suspension clunky noise. Mine is due for its 10K service soon and I've had soem 'do-ings' noises that I'd like addressed.

Cheers, Steve

Just had my indicators sorted by a replacement rear light cluster under warranty at Pentagon Rochdale yesterday. They had to try body control module first, but then went for light cluster. Only took less than two weeks to arrive. Glad I didn't have to pay for it at £900 yikes

Hi Crazyhorse,

Are you the Evoke VXR8 driver, if so I have seen you once (posted) parked in Castleton and at the pub opposite spring field park (you were in last Wednesday).

Cheers

Nope, I bought the red hot R8 from Hartwell a month ago, and it now resides in sunny Bradford. After having it a month I am going to stick some piccies up and tell all about my first month. But's that's another thread for later today.

........and it's Crazyhouse laugh

OK results are as follows, new indicator unit ordered, spring isolator modification ordered for front susspension (doubt it will cure it but has to be tried first according to warranty dept). Then the real downer, front brake discs warped, wont replace under warranty but would be happy to have them reground under warranty (dont think so!!!!!) car has only done 5000 miles. This is not a good way to treat your customers Mr Vauxhall, especially one who deals with Vauxhall customers all day long and has sung your praises for along time!!. If you read this Stu harris i know Vauxhall are making cut backs but this is a joke!!

Front brakes discs warped? I dont believe a word of it! It will be rust or pad deposits. But your argument will be stronger if they think its warping.

So a good clean up of pads and discs may cure it then!

Richard

Sent you PM as I couldn't find this posting doh!

So when is your front suspension going to be fixed? Mine will be booked in (10k service due in about 2 weeks) very soon; frantic at work.

Thanks for your comments Monkfish, this clunky front suspension sounds like a common VXR8 problem.

Hi Steve, Waiting for them to get parts in, i hope itll be done in the next couple of weeks, it seems to be getting worse! Doubt they'll fix it first time, bet Rogers right and its the front dampers which are incidentally only warrentied for the first 3000 miles.

I'm booked in to Motorbodies for Friday, I mentioned the front suspension and they are going to get the same parts for mine as yours.

I asked about supplying my own oil, as at the 500 mile service (performed just before I bought it) they used Vauxhall's Prestige fully synthetic oil and I'm sure they would again. This will reduce the cost from £241 to £154; quite a saving IMO. I bought the oil through 'Autobahnstormers' 4x 5L @ £57.

Do you know what is done for the 1k miles service?

Cheers, Steve

Is your suspension better now - I'm still waiting for the parts to come in to MotorBodies - due tomorrow apparently.

I was told that on yours they fitted other parts to fix your problem; not sure if that was as well as or instead of. Do you know?

Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve car all fixed now, drives much nicer ,no clonks. They also fitted a new " Engine ECU" made me panic, but was then told it was the ECU for the indicators, so that would be a BCU.

I got a text from Motorbodies, my parts due in yesterday, so looks like a trip to work in a Corsa sometime next week, ha ha.

I've had no trouble with indicators (so far!)

Have a good weekend - off to wash the beast now :-)
