Downsides are easier to list as the pluses are too many.
EJ, but I've kind of got used to his me-first-questions-later style now. EJ-always wrong and DC-always right have become quite a comedy pairing. EJ should be on the grid walks with Brundle everytime though, except without gettng touchy-feely with people like Branson who are clearly injured! lol monkey.
The intro. Even though it has the chain, far worse than anything ITV could muster. Must have live action of the previous season in the intro or even just the last race, as an F1 tradition!
Jake Humphrey's given the chance to race when he clearly doesn't have the mettle, interest, skill etc. when there are thousands of viewiers far more capable who would kill for such a chance. Money would've been better spent on a viewer competition.

Much better coverage than ITV ever did. Plenty to see on the interactive channels like previous Grand prix's, a re-run of practice. I don't mind DC and EJ, but I'm still not a fan of JL. Martin Brundle is excellent. The biggest boost, no bloody adverts in the middle of the race. 9/10 from me.
It's been excellent - website, classic races, post-racde forum, no adverts, intelligent comment, just the right amount of humour (I thought they were a tad serious in Australia, they've improved a great deal since). Team is very good too:
Jake - great anchorman, plenty of enthusiasm and knowledge. What really impressed me was some of the subjects he brought up at Silverstone in the Elise race - started chatting to Martin Donnelly about his accident and Senna's reaction to it, for example.

Maurice Hamilton will make a good co-commentator for Legard as I want to see Davidson in a Lotus or Manor next year - he's a fine commentator but he's too young for it.
So swap Crofty and Legard and it should be nigh-on perfect

Outstanding work from the Beeb. Head and shoulders above what ITV ever managed. The only reason it hasn't got a 10/10 from me is Legard. Get shot of him and put Croft in his place and you'll never hear a bad word about the BBC F1 coverage from me again.

9/10 for me. ITV's coverage was arguably better than the Beeb's in the late 90's when they took over (better production values, more slick etc), but the Beeb's took what was good from what ITV did and improved on it. No ads means no more shouting at the telly when you miss that season's only overtake, the red button/F1 forum is a revelation and actually showing all the qualifying/pracise sessions is something I haven't seen anyone do since Eurosport's excellent coverage came to an end.
Negatives are few and far between - I have sometimes felt uncomfortable watching EJ and DC have their rather public arguements, I think Legard was a fine commentator and really can't find fault - it's a hard game and he did well in my opinion. The rest have been fab and I've had so many laugh out loud moments with Jake and the gang.

No HD - for the money in the sport this is criminal (although I'm aware it's not the Beeb's fault, wasn't the last race filmed in HD)
Edited programmes on the red button - quali shown, but little else. Also, why no updates on the red button feed as more info like race weights etc. become known?

There's probably a very good reason for not showing ITV coverage from last year in this years BBC intro. 
t.7/10. Intro is great. I've actually grown to like the 'odd couple' Jordan and 'Buzz'
Brundle is great on the pitwalks (Jordan was funny today) and is a real knowledge and good commentator which I think is a rare treat.
The Five-Live team for the free practice are excellent and Davidson seems a pretty straight-ahead chap and cuts out the bullsh*t.
Coultard seems to have some kind of contractual obligation in the way he speaks. I'm not sure it's all from the heart rather than what he's allowed to go.
Legard honestly needs dropping from the BBC balcony. He rattles off at 100 mph and bugs the caboodles off me. A real low point even a year on.

Aside from Crofty not being a racing driver but a fine commentator, Brundle never won a race, yet I'd sooner listen to him than Mansell.I give the BBC 10/10 for the coverage and I remember the F1 Digital+ coverage.
If I was to be picky it would have to be Legard but he is still a lot better than James Allen.
