Zafira 1.6 engine fault anyone help please?

Whilst driving about 70mph the engine died then recovered but would'nt let me go past 3000rpm. Symbol on dashboard appeared with a car and a spanner through it. Laboured the car home and switched it off then restarted it symbol gone and reving as normwl???? Any ideas lads and have i anything to worry about?

It sounds like it went into limp mode, it will have recorded the fault so get it to a garage & diagnosed.
