Thanks for posting this. I've been away from the UK for many years but this answers a long-standing confusion I've had. When in Sheffield and being a kebab lover I'd go to various places (or rather stagger past various places and stop at some). There was one place that did the most unbelievable kebabs - for years I've tried to describe them to folk but to no avail.
And now I think I know. They must be the Lamb Schawarma variety. Thanks!

Does anyone know what exactly is in a donner or how they make it, I've heard various stories but I'm curious to know the real ingredients and process.
As for kebab shop recommendations, if in Glasgow try 'Best Kebab' near Queen St train station, a turkish bloke I used to work with recommended their chicken sarbeni as being very authentic and tasty.

Just Halal Kebabs, near the Cop Shop ? They were amazing, really dark, thick, meaty meat. And now I think I know. They must be the Lamb Schawarma variety. Thanks!

There are obviously loads of different mixes, but it ranges from anything from the fatty joints of lamb, the not so nice bits and parts, to even containing chicken, mixed in with strong spices.Noger said:
