Interesting; I've never yet (since he moved from blogspot/wordpress or whatever to his own hosting) had it down. But the twitter widget hasn't been working for a few days, and the feedburner RSS feed's last entry was for 31/10 at 08:07, so something going a bit awry.

Perhaps the site has been overwhelmed for demand for signed copies of his book about the 2009 F1 season?
