What jacks are people using to get their Fury's on to axle stands.
The problem i have is getting something low enough to get under the car, but jack high enough to get onto the stands.

At the moment im rolling the car onto bits of timber and then jacking from there, but the jacks not high enough.

Not a Fury for me, but I use a cheap scissor jack to get it started, then put the trusty trolley jack under, and up it goes.

What's your budget? I'm looking at this currently and the low nosed jacks are quite expensive - particularly if you want a middle weight one. There's at least one heavyweight example on the market for about £100, but it's huge - not very portable. There are a couple of very light (1.2 ton) models for not much more, but the usual 1.5 and 2 ton jacks seem to be £180+ for a low nose.

I know what a pain it can be as I've encountered the problem before. Given just how expensive they are I'm tempted to stick with the scissor jack, then normal cheap'n'chunky trolley after that method.

Budget around £250.
I want something that will get the car nice and high in the air, more than the initial get it under the car. I can always use the wooden blocks.

Last week i bought a Sealey 2500le, usually £200 current offer £89.
Proper beast. Low entry (75mm) & lifts 2.5 ton overkill probably, but better safe etc.

Be warned that it does weigh nearly 40 kilos!

I bought a Snap-on low profile trolley jack for my Aeon - it was about £200 from memory, but very low and quite long (so it's quite easily able to get it onto my axle stands).

Unfortunately, I can't find a website with a description of it (well, in my quick search considering I'm in the office and not meant to be surfing smile ).

If you don't object to spending £250 on a jack I'd certainly get a proper low entry one. Unless you plan on using it for anything more heavy duty int he future I'd be tempted to stick to one of the mid weight ones because, as said above, the bigger jacks can be a pain to cart around at 40+ kilos.

I use the Machine Mart type that is intended for 4wd vehicles. Must be something like 600mm lift, and has a foot pedal that lifts quickly, and is intended to bring the saddle to the lift point , but with a kit car the whole lift can be done with the pedal.

I can usually get to the diff ok, but for the front I use the MM lightweight aluminium unit that has a low entry, that lifts the car far enough to get the big jack under.

I've got one of these.

Unless you're running a Chevy Big Block or V12, 1 1/4 tonnes will be fine!!

I use a single seater quick lift jack.
it lifts either the whole front or rear quickly & is safe when the car is on it.
Assuming its garage kit your after & not a fit in the glovebox jack.

I just bought one from costco... 3000kg low entry one, cracking but weighs a ton. Definitely a cracking buy.

My Phoenix uses two pieces of 8 X 2 ,roll onto them and then use a cheap 3 ton trolley jack which gives good lift. I've never found or borrowed a jack that would roll under my car, so no point in 250=300 pounds for the jack! As I don't have a spare it only goes on the jack in my garage where the cheap 8x2 sit.
