E46 330d Tyres
Discussion
Hi,
Just got an 03 330d touring, fitted with the 18 inch mv alloys. 255/35/18 on the rear and 225/30/18 on the front. Just wanted some opinions on which are the best tyre options for these wheels. Currently it is running budget tyres which I want to ditch ASAP. Was thinking along the lines of Eagle F1's which come out at £512 for all four which I thought was quite good value. Anyone know what it was fitted with from new??

Have Goodyear F1s on mine and they're fine although the car does have a tendency to tramline, then again they all do that.
Am fitting Bridgestone reo40s later today so will be interested to see how they work out.
Don't think you'll be able to get the older F1s for the rears as they're being phased out in favour of the new Asymmetrics.

By way of an update,
Got the REO40s fitted and had a snapped rear control arm fixed at the same time.
Drove round some familiar backroads and then into work tonight, where the car used to try and throw you into a hedge it now tracks, accellerates and brakes totally straight, grip is good (Although the tyres are not yet fully run in), road noise seems to be reduced and along the worst stretches of the A12 there's not a hint of tramlining where before it was borderline unsafe.
Very happy with the choice and would definately recommend them.

Exact same size tyres as on my Z4 (I guess you mean 225/40/18 on the front), so although not the same car this is perhaps still relevant:
Falken FK452's?
£350 for a set online plus fitting. I can only compare them (very favourably) to the standard Bridgestone runflats, RE050s I think, but I've not tried anything else on the Z4. They are liked by loads of folk over on z4-forum though...
