This morning, I spotted a Lamborghini Gallardo on the back of a breakdown truck, with a severely burned engine compartment.
On the A3 near Petersfield.
Anyone on here?

I wonder if I could salvage a release bearing out of the mess.....

As I'm new to Gallardo ownership and recall Clarkson showing a load of photos of burnt out G's on Topgear, can anyone explain why so many do catch fire? It obviously didn't stop me from buying one!

Probably because no one bothers reporting or showing pics of burnt out Fords etc on the internet.

I dunno . I was trying to show my brother a video to try to find out where the fire starts (seems like left hand side of the engine bay , did early gallardos have a hose in that area that could rupture ? ..I heard it was re routed later) , anyway ...found a few too many vids of gallardo fires to just pass it off as nothing ! frown ..... so , if I buy one I will be looking carefully in that area and asking lots of questions to guard against the chance (it only needs to happen to you once ) and probably carrying a good fire extinguisher ! ... pleasae note , I am not intending to spread panic , just worth looking at and thinking about .
