normal kingsize mattress on an ikea kingsize bed

..somewhat of a classic subject i am sure...

basically we have a left over proper kingsize mattress and have seen a bad frame in ikea that's almost cheap enough to be free. normally it'd be a bit cr4p but would look quite good on this mezzanine level we have in one of our spare rooms...

..so what iwant to know is - has anyone else used a normal (150*200) mattress on an ikea bed (160*200). how rubbish is the extra-2"-either-side issue?

Mine is like this, i just make sure i have the 2 inches without matress on her side of the bed so she bashes her legs on it in the morning not me! Will eventually get round to sorting it...

I have this, I replaced the Ikea mattress for a better one, it doesn't bother me at all.
