Just acquired Golf Convertible.

Yippee - We've now joined the world of VW ownership!!
We've now won a Golf on e-Bay (or the missus has!!) and we collect it tomorrow. It's a W plate Mk4 Colour Concept Cabriolet with full leather and air-con. I am led to believe that the convertibles were all a hybrid of Mk3 and Mk4 Golf, so I need to find out what engine etc is in it so I can give it a good service. Apparently there were 3 different types of 2.0 8V engine!

Sounds like a good purchase to me

They are essentially MK3s with smoked rear lights and the front end of a MK4 grafted on. The interor agian borrows elements from both MKs.

Engine most likely the 2.0 8V 115bhp I would guess?

Yes, apparently they're a Mk3.5 (according to Wikipedia). It's a 115bhp 2.0 8V but apparently these come in 3 guises, so I need to find out the differences. It came from a local company that sell on finance repos so they don't set a reserve, just get what they can then claim a commission.
Needs a service and timing belt (just in case) and alloys refurbishing but apart from that seems like a good deal.
And it was just over £2k!!
