Gents,

A bit of advise on Seamaster model nos. if you will.

Looking at a 2007 black face full size s/s seamaster quartz with box and papers. Model quoted is 2364.50.00.

Having found an american site which gives guidance on the model nos., this one doesn't seem correct?

Thanks for your help chaps!

Dave.

Is it the quartz version of this -

If it is, then the model number should be 2264.50.00. If it is another variant, then can't help you sorry

It most certainly is Commander!

It's for sale in a jewellers who deals with some nice brands so maybe just a mistake with the model number.

I'll email them now to query as it's a pretty nice example for good money and black faced versions don't appear to be as available as the blues in the used market at the moment.

Thanks again.

My pleasure. In TZUK circles, this style of SMP are highly thought of and destined to be a future design classic. Good luck with landing one, but be aware that if it is coming from the States it will be subject to VAT and customs charges, so might be worth while looking for a UK based one - they are around if you look hard enough and willing to bide your time for a while.

It's actually in a uk jewellers and is up for £745.00 asking price which I thought to be quite reasonable (which is why I'm being shady with revealing the jewellers on the forum at the moment) wink

I agree. The 'Sword hands' design looks so much better than the skeleton hands on the later ones.

It is the full size version - model no. as suggested by Cmdr......BUT to throw another spanner into the works so to speak, I've just found a 2003 Seamaster Great White GMT auto full size for a fraction over £900.00

Now, although a little bit more than the £750.00 for the 2007 quartz black face, am I right in saying that the extra £150.00 is worth it due to it firstly being an automatic, and secondly due to it being a rarer watch and therefore should hold it's value better?

It also looks more like my current watch so the missus would never even notice my purchase! wink

I paid only a smidge more than that for a brand new auto about 6 years ago (admittedly when I was also buying a rolex gmt)

for your info I still have the omega and not the rolex. Seamaster is an excellent watch
