Can anyone recommend a good dietician in the north west/manchester area? Would like to go and see them to get advice on starting to build a much healthier diet into my lifestyle, mainly so that I can get some more energy and also generally feel a bit more healthy!

Any suggestions greatly appreciated, especially if anyone has seen a dietician and had such a plan made etc

Probably only if it's causing or exacerbating a health issue. If he's in reasonably fine fettle and just looking to be healthier then it's likely to get left up to the private sector.

Getting close to xmas party season, best to lurk outside your local hospital and follow staff to the pub. wink

I disagree. Your method is great for losing weight, but for general health a properly balanced diet is essential. Not everybody knows what a balanced diet should contain - how much fat/what type of fat etc.

I certainly don't. Monohydrated, hydrogonated and all that is double dutch to me.

Doesn't mean a GP won't be able to recommend a dietician for a private appointment.

http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/healthydiet/ would be a good start on your own.

perfect diet for me would be to eliminate processed sugar, eliminate sugary fruits only grapefruits limes lemons tomatoes, eliminate coffee switch to herbal tea, low carb, anything that causes acidosis is bad, good fats to get your energy from and get your body to start using its fat stores, lots of green foods and green drinks, nothing that is a product of fermentation, no meat...

You won't live longer, but it'll feel like it.

Badum tish.

Soovy is right, eat a varied diet and you'll cover most bases, it really isn't tricky.
