A8 repair costs
Discussion
Hey guys,
I've got an A8, and the other week a I noticed a scrape down one of the sides - someone had obviously hit it parking and then drove off
leaving me to foot the bill. Anyway, got it taken down to an Audi place to get repaired - they're quoting me £420 + vat to get the scrape repaired. This seems like quite a lot but I'm willing to go ahead with that one. What I'm worried about is that they also said I hadn't cleaned bird crap off the bonnet in time, and so it had eaten through the lacquer in 3 different places. They were quoting me £300 to repair this - which seems quote a lot for a bit of lacquer. Are they having me on? Should I get it checked out at an independent of just pay for it at the Audi place?
Many thanks

At the very least get a quote from a good independant body shop.Should I get it checked out at an independent of just pay for it at the Audi place?

You might find the prices are very similar, body repair is expensive.
If they are much cheaper I'd go with the independant, privided they are an insurance aproved body centre.
Most Audi centres, mine included, sub out all body work so it makes litle difference.
