Taz for sale

I dare say most of current drivers may have only heard of Carolann's car as it a while ago now when she entered the challange.

I'd like to see at least 1 early car restored to original taz spec...


I must say i dont like ebay auctions where the bidders are hidden. I just assume its a rigged bid then so the seller can bid up the price :-( presumerably not in this case but i still dont like that kind of auction

I was just saying it would be nice to see at least one car preserved in the original spec.. as all the original cars have been modified.

your right though it wouldnt be at the sharp end of the grid without some major internal upgrades.

but it could make a tidy fun trackday car nicely put back together on the early spec... a bit like the seac..

I see lots of value in history Graham, but I wouldn't restore a race car to be uncompetitive in the series' available for it to run in - even if it had lots and lots of good history as a race car....

I agree it would make a fun track day car though!!

what are the cut off dates in the various classic series.. Presumably to run in on of those it would need stock motor with fi and stock suspension... Even then though the big motor with only 160bhp max might be an issue

It could run in the CSCC future classic series (up to late 1980s with some early 90s cars accepted by exception. Engine is free, as is supension and brakes but would need the injection back in place, it should retain silouette in all planes and would run in the up to 3 litre class with my M.

MMM I expect you'd struggle to match the power of a good carb fed 3ltr with a 2.8 on mechanical FI

I might have a play with one of my old 2.8's though when the 24v goes in as sounds like topless might be eligible I'll have a looky at the regs..

Im not sure if that read right... I meant that the 3ltr essex on triple carbs has more power than a 2.8 on the mechanical fuel injection... for a start the 2.8 on a single twin choke weber has more power than running the 2.8 on stock FI..
