Try before you buy!

Hi All
Having been a pretty solid MTB rider for years, I want to give Road biking a go. But can't warrant the expense to go out and buy a bike, not knowing whether I will enjoy it.
Does anyone know of anywhere / one in the Silverstone area who may be willing to lend a bike, on a try before you buy basis?
