Looking at buying a Classic Subaru Impreza Wagon (1999-2001), but the ones I've seen have got rust around the windscreen. Some worth than others.

Is this a common problem?

Is this just caused by a carelessly fitted new windscreen?

Is the rust just likely to be cosmetic? Is it simple enough to fix?

Cheers. smile

Hi
I had this problem on my car, it was caused by a badly fitted windscreen. Cost £300 to have repaired at a bodyshop this included a new windscreen.

Hi
Yes it was, the body shop ground all the rust off and then put a few small welds in where the rust had been, I think the windscreen was £90 so the atuall repai was about £210. the rust on mine was on the top corner of the passenger side a pillar.
