If you drive down the A19 heading south just before the Dalton lodge you will notice the road has been covered in bits of red tarmac and has the word "SLOW" emblazoned all over ! I appreciate there is a hazardous junction there but what dooes slow mean is it 69 mph or 50 or 20? Surely the word "CAUTION" would be better. Seems to me its very ambiguous and just an excuse to use somemore multi coloured tarmac.

Perhaps you were travelling in the wrong direction and it was actually advertising the services of the local MOT testing station? (MOTS)

I agree with you though, perhaps they should be indicating what the hazard is.

Well obviously since speed kills you need to slow down to be safe, that's what they're telling you. If other things like putting the phone down and paying attention to the road made you safer they'd probably have put that instead.
