I think the sensible answer is to go for the Elite and save some money.
There’s little need for the 250GB of HD space unless you think you may want to install lots of games to your HD to save noise and load times when playing, or purchase a lot of full games or Xbox Classics from the Live Arcade.
Having said that, I bought the Super Elite Forza 3 pack myself.

The only reason for getting one was that my 20 gig drive is out of space, coupled with the fact I'd like an HDMI connection.
The MW one looks kinda gay, plus I'm not really worried about installing all my games, I don't really play that many.
Then I'll have the fun of copying my xbox data across.

Given that a copy of MW2 costs about £40 and the Special Edition comes with 2 controllers and a headset - it's a good deal IMHO. Same reason I upgraded.
Trading in my old 20GB Xbox plus a couple of games, second controller and Wi-Fi adapter left me paying £40 for the Super Elite pack with 250GB, two controllers and Forza 3.
A much better deal than keeping my old console and paying £140 for a 120GB hard drive and a copy of Forza.

You might not think you need 250gb now, but if it does come to the point in the future where you do need it (I have filled my 120gb easily), you would be gutted if you had to go and buy it.
To me, it seems a no brainer that the Special Edition is the one to go for. If you want MW2 and need an extra joypad as part of your 360 ownership, the £199 deal will suddenly cost you another £70/80.....

Move your saved game files on to the memory card. Don’t worry about actual content (Live Arcade games, gamer profiles, etc).
Wipe your old hard drive clean. Trade in or sell the console.
Set up your new console, input your Gamertag and it recovers your profile from Xbox Live. Copy your saved games from the memory card on to the new machine.
Go online to the Xbox License Transfer Tool http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/support/drm/ and follow the steps to tell Microsoft that you’re moving to a new machine.
Finally, on your new machine, you can now hit a button to download all your old content from Live all over again. It’s now licensed to your new machine.
You’re probably going to have to it this way no matter what, because Microsoft stopped supplying the transfer cable for copying directly between two hard drives. To get one now you have to phone support and have it posted out. They charge fifteen quid for it as well, so you might as well buy a memory card instead!

As I said above, if you want a new game and a HD at the same time, that’s £130 or £140 quid. If the game you want is part of a bundle with the Super Elite console, then trading up to the whole new console pack costs the same or less than just buying the HD and game (depending on how much you get for your old console).
