Best Business Fuel Cards
Discussion
As the title suggests, who on here has a fuel account and what sort of saving to you get with it? if
any. My reason for asking is that i have been with tesco for about 5 years but we dont get a
discount on our fuel. We don't have a massive spend £500 - £600 per month, but there must be a
provider who gives discounts or incentives.
Ive done an online search but some of the sites out there look like scams.

company got bought out, used to use arval, dumped to save cash
so weekly expense claims @ £0.50 per week, around £25, when there is postal strike, it is £4.50 special delivery
cost of the card I guess is around £12 per year.... so nothing saved, employees have to carry the hassle of claiming every week

We use Arval.
Depends on your fleet size and what area you operate in. If your vehicles all operate within easy reach of a particular fuel brand station it may be worth looking at getting a card for just e.g. Shell/Esso to get a 2p discount (or whatever they do) but Arval gives the flexibility to fill up a the cheapest petrol stations (such as Asda) and you will save more than the discount you would get by being tied to one supplier.
FYI - BP has historically been the most expensive place to buy fuel, so get your staff to avoid BP and encourage them to compare prices, but usually supermarkets (particularly ASDA) are the cheapest places.

I encourage staff to use supermarkets by saying they get clubcard points.Depends on your fleet size and what area you operate in. Thanks for the replies, I have been talking with these people www.thefuelcardpeople.co.uk they have
a lot of different cards but iam really looking for the simplest option with the most filling
stations. Can you use arval at most places? I just hate to spend money with tesco tbh.

try Morgan Fuels
http://www.morganfuels.com/fuelcards.html
Based in Ireland, my family's business has been using them for a number of years - decent service, they issue a price every Friday by e mail and stick to that for the week.

Staff who do a lot of miles actually do very well on points using cards for fuel purchases. Unfortunately i think lots of them must have Nectar Cards and keep filling up at BP despite being asked to avoid them!Timja said:
