Sending cash from UK to US (bank transfer)

Hi all, quick question.

A mate is buying some items from a guy in America through a forum, and wants to know how he can do a transfer, and what details he will need off the guy.. (IBAN code? Standard bank details?)

I send money from my UK HSBC account to my US Wells Fargo bank frequently online, it's simple enough. If it's like my online HSBC banking, he'll have to add the seller as a beneficiary, and fill in the following detais:

daaahh!! It's only available during UK hours, which is an arse for me in the US&A. IBAN is needed, as is some other beneficiary number, and account details. I'll post up the exact details once I log on tomorrow morning.

I take it the other party won't take Paypal?

He can send the funds by Telegraphic Transfer, he will need as much detail as possible from the other party. Iban only works in Europe but he should ask for SWIFT, routing codes if possible. Usually a us bank will detail a summary of what info should be used on their website.

It will cost c£15+ depending on the urgency and he should ask for it to be sent in USD (rather than it being converted at the other end). Also be aware that the other party may incur charges he should factor for.

Paypal would be easiest if possible.
