Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a nice pub/restaurant, not too pricey in Bath?

Thanks,

Bath/not pricey.... you may have few choices. wink

One Fish Two Fish is pretty good if you're a fishy person. Used a lovely place a couple of times, restaurant upstairs - buggered if I can think of the name of it though... I'll be back.

Loads of nice places in Bath...

Pub wise The Marlborough tavern is a great little place
http://www.marlborough-tavern.com/

If you want somewhere a little quirky try Bistro Pappillon (a stones throw from the circus/crescent)
http://www.bistropapillon.co.uk/

If you just want a good pub with a nice atmosphere (with great fish and chips) try the Crystal Palace

Hope this helps...

Moon & Sixpence is nice: www.moonandsixpence.co.uk

Circus Restaurant on Brock Stret is excellent but probably fails the not-too-expensive test

The King William is pretty highly rated for food - www.kingwilliampub.com - if you are happy venturing into that part of town (i.e. the next 100 yards further down from the pub are pretty grim).

The Salamander is good, usually very busy though.

If you like Curry then Rajpoot just over Pulteney Bridge is top notch.

Thought I'd resurrect this one rather than start something fresh - taking the OH for a midweek break next week (Tuesday and Wednesday) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for good places to go?

I've never been to Bath and don't know anyone else that has a local knowledge.

Getting the train there so a drive out to the country isn't an option but looking for four decent places, two for lunch and two for dinner - hotel is handling breakfast.

Good place for lunch is the Lime Cafe (I think that is what its called). Just near the Royal Crescent, we had a really good, reasonably priced lunch there in January. Think it gets the top rating on Trip Advisor for restaurants in Bath.

Also, had a nice meal at the Marlborough Arms, again quite close to the Royal Crescent ,might be one for lunch as well.

Olive Tree restaurant at The Queensberry is very nice.

Firehouse Rotisserie is also very nice down in town also serves delicious steaks/chicken.

Real Italian Pizza Co. is meant to be good, though I've never been there.

Gasgoyne Place just up from the cinema serves nice food in a decent setting.

Jika Jika up on George St (top of Milsom St) does a great breakfast burrito up till 3pm.

And that's all I can think of at the mo. Have fun! smile

Don't bother with the Moon & Sixpence - They've just announced closure after nearly thirty years.

Oh and for good pubs, try One Beaufort out on the London Road. Haven't been for a while but their food was pretty good when they first opened and quite reasonable.
