Evening all,

Some friends of ours have just moved to Iceland to follow a dream job. The OH and I are planning to go out and visit them sometime in February, but would like to combine the trip with a skiing trip to Canada/USA. So the plan would be a week to 10 days skiing and a stop off in Iceland either on the way there or back.

So, what's a good ski resort for me (competent on piste, incompetent off piste wink) and her (absolute beginner)? And not too far from an airport that will allow us to bounce in Iceland?

Recommendations and places to avoid please!
Cheers,
E.

You may want to avoid Whistler Canada at that time as the Olympics will be on. I own a home there and I realise its going to be crowded and expensive.

You may want to check out Lake Tahoe which is 3 hours outside of San Francisco. You have a number of resorts around the lake but will need a car to get to them. I surgest you base yourself in Heavenly; it’s a great hill and should suit both of you

Entirely forgot about the Olympics! Thanks for reminding me.

Combining it with a few days in SF too would be fantastic as it's one of my favourite US cities, thanks for the suggestion.
