A suggestion for the next Sunday Service
Discussion
Having come to my first Sunday Service last weekend I thought it would be interesting to have a group meet at the new West London Audi which is the largest in the world and a few classic cars stored on the 2 top floors. Or even the London Motor Museum in Hayes where Elo has a SSC Aero TT which is the fastest production car in the world!
As far as I know, he still has it....it says on his site anyway.

Also....any progress on the venue for PH Sunday Service?

How about Crystal Palace Park.
There are many people that don't appreciate the Motoring significance of Crystal palace.
It has a longer history in Motor racing that almost any existing Circuit and a lot of the tracks features still exist and has seen serious competition by manyserious names from Bira to Hill.
Could be an idea to hold back until May and doe a Sunday service that co-incides with the Sevenoaks and District Motor Club's May bank holiday Sprint to be held there.

I live not far from West London Audi and I've been meaning to pop in to their new show room for a little while now!As for the London Motor Museum, I drive past this everyday on my way home from work. How much space would there be for parking because as it stands, there doesn't seem to be a huge amount.

They have to consider not just the venue but also access possibilities on Sunday. South London is a hole, trafficwise. There are many people that don't appreciate the Motoring significance of Crystal palace.

As for 'holding back' - I'd be surprised if there wasn't one until May!

Im just up the road from the new Aud Palace. Not a huge amount of parking there really but i would love to go for a nosey round
I did, the race cars aren't available for the public to view, so it's just a very large Audi dealer. No-where near enough parking for a Sunday Service I'm afraid.Harsh said:

How about Lotus in Hethel?
working on that
Off topic I meant to say hello at the NEC but when I was free you were busy & vice-versa!
loved the car by the way, I kept waving as we crossed paths to say hello

Secondly - any chance you could PM me some further details of the US road trip? Can't commit at all yet but would love to have an idea of budget, cars, itinery etc.

is this your car sir .....
errm no, it belongs to the bloke in the ferrari...
which one?
errrm.
ok, we tried to catch you last time (nice driving around the roundabout by the way!)
i'll email you either here or on FB once it's all final (a week or so)
I went to the Audi showroom last week for a board meeting. It is an interesting venue, but far more of a working showroom than M-B world and sadly they have very little parking on site. We were able to access the top two floors where Audi keep some interesting stuff from their archive but it isn't open to the public sadly.
Not so sure it'd work as well as other venues for our needs tbh, and with the location we'd be guaranteed to be massively oversubscribed.

worst, 'i get to do and see things you lot dont' post ever Not so sure it'd work as well as other venues for our needs tbh, and with the location we'd be guaranteed to be massively oversubscribed.

agree the parking area is way too small and it's a bit of a pig to get to even on a Sunday.
MB world is going to be fun

Went to the Audi Showroom yesterday...really not much room there and apart from the Quattros on the top floor not much to look at or do...no real catering facilities.
One part of our Lotus tour is sorted now (Tony, you'll see it on FB soon
)
Also had a look at the LMM site...
it looks like fun but once again might be too small for an SS and it's not the easiest location wise.
some nice cars though!
