Air Con

How do I fathom if the air con works on my cerbera?
The blue light sometimes comes on and stays on, sometimes flickers and goes out and sometimes doesnt come on at all. Plenty of cold air pouring out of the vent though.
I wonder whether it just needs re-gassing or whether this is an electrical gremlin??
