I don't want to go into why i'm asking this question - have spent enough 'emotion' to last a life time recently...for those who know - thank-you.. thumbup

My SEAC is currently sitting on a drive, addmittedly under a silk..ish indoor cover, and then a large elasticated water proof cover. I also have her connected to a trickle charger.

I have always had my cars garaged, now i can't, life's a b***h. rolleyes

Who else leaves/has to leave their car out on the road/under a cover etc.. through winter? Presumably there are a few who use their's all year around?

I just wondered what the cost is to having the car stored professionally, at least during winter?

£££££?

Mines out all year under a cover purchased from Argos. Cat likes scratching it and not waterproof.

No trickle charge attached and she fired up first time yesterday after month of not using it.

I'm now on a concrete hardstanding so hopefully not too much damp from below and was even thinking of making a carport type cover for it to stop the rain getting in

Was looking the other day at a more waterproof fitted cover costing @ £240 I think and would be a better option and did look at one point in the folding canvas / plastic prambula type contraption, but was too wide to then get 3 cars on the drive frown

Used to put mine into a local indoor staroage facility that cost about £20-25 a month. I used to reason that it would cost me that to keep it taxed but sat on the road. It's probably gone up by now.... but so has road tax rolleyes

I have a large water proof (ish) barn at my home, you are welcome to store it, but I do not know your location and I might be too far (Ringwood Hants)

Glad you've still got it! You can normally rent a garage locally for car storage. They'll not want you doing any work in there and there'll be no power and light, but ~£50 a month normally does it?

you're local council will have garages to rent for around £5-8/week. most are watertight and secure (double up on locks)You may want to put hay down on the floor first to take care of any damp !!! Mate told me that one...hope it works. and it adds up to a lot less than £120/month yikes

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, yes still got it. Had interest but i have been away alot last few weeks so not much else has happened.
In a perfect world i would love to keep her... just have to see what happens, for now i go on the asumption that it doesn't sell.

I would ideally prefer it covered & secured in a garage, but not sure on $25-30 > week? I guess that is the going rate...

Thanks for the offer to help Ian, but you wouldn't like my SEAC...very overrated car and far to noisy! wink

Rabow man - i'm in Bucks so it would be a little far. If on the rare chance the sun does come out over winter i won't be anywhere near my car to use it.

I had thought of a carcoon Steve, but tbh i don't know enough about them. I will have to have a Google

try local grannies with lovely dry, empty garages, may get away with £10 per week, i found one for my cousin in law to stick his ferrari in just by enquiring with people i work for. Dont ask, Dont get!

Good point.

My mum has a perfectly good, but empty garage. She's 82, and doesn't drive.

Here is a list of over 75 indoor storage companies in the UK together with links to their websites:

www.cumbriacarstorage.co.uk

Go to "Useful Information!" and "Alternative Storage Facilities"

BTW I'm offering a 20% discount to PH members and can provide transport if needed.

If it's fastened to the floor at regular intervals i don't think there would be a problem

Hi Waynester
I'm currently in talking into getting a large workshop / Barn, so maybe able to rent you a space to keep your car.

We are still working out the price, and how much spare we will have, as owner wants to still keep some stuff there, once we have that we can work out what its costing per Square meter, So can't give you a price yet.
But hopefully know next few weeks.
