The Porsche Car Config wont let me specify a GT / Aero Kit...

I have seen Areokitted 996's, SO assume its an option.

anyone know for sure.. or am I looking at a Techart Aftermarket?

as opposed to the stock

I will call the dealers when I get chance, just wondering if anyone (Rich1231?) had an Idea.

thnx

Its not a cert yet...

I might still need to get a new house outside of london again...

and I need to see a return on my business investments. Expansion doesnt come cheap

But, the way things are looking, and given current waiting lists, I might end up rolling my Gt3 order into one of these instead....

Shall see

Is it just me or does the Turbo cab look a bit ugly? Not as aesthetically challenged as the Cayenne, but a bit oddly proportioned just the same.

The Turbo coupe is a beautiful car, make no mistake. Jamie, please put the money in the business or one of these - or get a GT3.

A bit ugly? More like butt ugly...

But who cares. I'd have one. You can be ugly as you wanna be in one of those. If the spare change was available at the mo' I'd be putting in my order right now.

There again...if I can get over the wind-in-the-hair thing...then the Coupe beckons....oh

The roof makes it look dumpy for some reason.

The coupe is a proper appliance, but the cab for some reason to my eye looks like a bit of an afterthought, almost like they had a load of orders but didnt want to retool...

I would stick with the Gt3 or get a regular C2 cab plus a Cayenne. Personally, did'nt really see the point of a turbo cab...

All of these cars are, however, just different degrees of loveliness.

I agree , the depreciation on this beastie will be painfull once the novelty has gone, just look at GT2's.
You could get a secondhand tin top TT & a BoxterS for that money.

Yep,

I've gone off the idea of the Cab. seen a few in the flesh and they ont grab my nuts and squeeze like it should. I am finding it hard to decide what to have next to be honest. The 996 TT is so good it makes so hard to beat.

My bet would be to go for the official Aerokit though.

I do really really like the Gallardo though...
Cant decide if I should or not. Dont think values are going to hold on it though to be honest.

Thanks for the input guys.

maybe it was what i needed to hear

I never liked the Cab shape... wasnt pure enough..

until I had a cab for a few months. the I loved it.. it looked stunning with the roof up, and with the roof down, I was in it

The roof was a work of art... and the extra noise that came thru at the right times, was beautiful...

My 996 Coupé handled better than the cab, it was tighter... but not so much as to dissuade me from a cab again... compared to my old TVR, it was in a different league.

The only thing which let the cab down, was lack of pure grunt.. It was a facelift 3.6, but felt slow on occasions.... when provoked it was nippy, but lacking that real urge. possibly bue to the extra weight it carries.. which is why I thought 996 TT cab. TBH, i had hoped to catch a deal, with people dropping their orders / rolling over into 997 cars... I thought I might find some dealer who needed to shift..

The only thing to do will be to pay my dealer a visit ... and try one...

Don, investment in the business is what I have been doing for the last 2 yrs... this is going to be the result of that... but, as we all well know, it could be that the business get hungry for expansion again, and needs to eat into the fund :| half of me wants it to, just so that it means the next car will be better still.... the other half.. wants it to calm down for a while, just so I can get something now.. which is a little selfish I suppose.

Still... only time will tell

thanks for the input guys.. gives me something to consider..

Rich... was there anything specific you didnt like? or just that it didnt bowl you over in the flesh? I suspect I am a few steps behind you in the buying process..

You thought WOW, must have... you place order, you spec.. then it dawns on you that maybe, you were being a tad hastey...

I think I am at step 1 atm :P

Have to say I'm with Rich on this one, I have been wondering about a Gallardo as the only realistic replacement for the 996TT currently. I always seem to want to change cars after a year, but have to say that the TT although a little boring looking is soooo good in just about every department it's hard to find anything to replace, apart from the Gallardo, but the premiums attached to them at the moment and with Audi stepping up production, it would seem a bit silly to pay through the nose currently, so I find myself in unfamiliar territory thinking I should just hang onto it, probably have it tuned a bit more (X50 turbos etc) and chuck miles onto it. Just on that point, as a matter of interest how many miles have other TT owners got on their cars, mines just gone past the 23K mark?

I think the 996 Turbo Cab is rather nice, particularly if you could get a body kit like the top picture.

I mean.. you've got all the pose factor of a convertible, you've got all the speed and handling of a TT (even better if you can have the X50)..

Point to point, I wouldn't have thought much could touch it

Charlie360,
mines around 23k as well at the moment. Perhaps ours are at the higher end of the scale.
