A6 autodimming mirror

The nearside mirror on my A6 only dims somtimes the rearview & offside work pefect, does anyone (tame tech?) have any info on how to fault find or even how to access the conections? any info would be great, thanx in adavance.

When its in a failed state, Connect the OS mirror glass to the NS mirror, (it wont fit in the mirror body but can hang there connected electrically)

If its still faulty with the known good glass, then its wiring, if the fault is fixed you need a mirror glass, simples.

Absolutely, they're very, very easy to snap in two!

push the top of the mirror glass as far in to the housing as it will go then get as many fingers in the gap underneath as possible and gently prise it off from the mounting in the middle. If you pull at any of the edges you can wait for the CCRRRAAAACCCCCK!

Thanx for your reply's, will check it over the weekend,Can u get a mirror glass anywhere apart from the stealers? They have quoted me £167! Cheers.
