Help me out here. This is a twenty grand watch.

Why?

Is it just the supadupa movement?

I love these, it has to be the coolest watch ever made! But yes, i am pretty sure it is only the crazy movement that demands the price. Oddly, WOS in Birmingham have a pre-owned but new 18ct gold crazy hours for 9.1K.

The Crazy Hours movement isn't that crazy - IIRC it's an ETA 2892 with a funny shaped wheel for the hour hand. Interestingly enough, in the 'replica' world, not only the aesthetics of the watch but the movement itself has been counterfeited - you can get a fake Crazy Hours watch where the hour hand indeed jumps around *just* like the genuine Franck Muller... apparently the 'complication' isn't that difficult and is just a bolt-on (otherwise the counterfeiters simply wouldn't have a chance to copy it).

And since the 2892 isn't easily affordable for the fake watch guys, they use the 2824 instead (which both Sea-Gull and Liaoning make a clone of IIRC), so the fake Crazy Hours has a 2824 with the same 'modification' to make the hour hand go 'crazy'.

Not worth the money IMO, but true of a fair number of FMs...

As a little guidence, the FM watches are one of the best to get discounts on as to the wholesaler they offer extremely good prices you should be able to get at least 20% off if you work a dealer.

FM discount lot more than most other mainline watch companies. The preowned market is quite stable aswell, they are beautiful interesting time pieces.

The crazy hours watches are interesting and a serious talking point. They do one more thats even more creative which called the totally crazy hours colour dream, 7880 TT CH D CODR, this only tells the correct time when you actually press a button!

FM's are a very cool watch with a technically advanced movement, the cintree curvex collection demonstrates FM technical ability to house the movement in a curved case.

My favorite is the master banker but as with any watch, call around compare and check the internet to get the best prices.

I asked about why a fairly ugly* square watch with an unusual movement goes for twenty-bags, and got a couple of interesting replies and your advert** in response. Perhaps I should go FM shopping at www.iconicwatches.com?

I'm never going to buy one. I was just scratching an itch.
