Hello You Lot,

I'm about to redo my bathroom, and would like a new shower cubicle, roll top bath, showery-blaster-thing, sink, loo, taps and some kind ooo-get him contemporary towel hanger. I'd also like this not to cost as much as new eyes.

I was just about to order the lot from a place called Victoria Plumb whose flier fell out of the paper this weekend and seemed to have my way of thinking price-wise (all in came to about 1100 quid), when I discovered a thread on some consumer rights forum all about how they're hugely rubbish at actually providing the things your order, which is very much the kind of thing that will make me quite cross.

So, does anyone have any experience of them? or, can anyone offer some names of places that I can buy the above for without A) spending millions on stuff I'll literally only be stting in, or sitting in and washing st off me and 2) having to chase them daily to find out where the things are that I ordered, leading to me being quite cross.

If we can wrap this up nice and quickly, I promise to never speak of it again and be oh-so-helpful on a near daily basis.

Thanks in advance. Hope you're all well, people of the internet.
N.

Helpful suggestion 1: Never buy things from flyers which fall out of your newspaper or are put through your letterbox.

Helpful suggestion 2: Ask a friend with a bathroom you like where they got theirs from and go there.

Helpful suggestion 3: Visit a few bathroom shops and look around to see what sort of bathrooms you can get for your money. Maybe even talk to the proprietor, who may offer some advice.

HTH biggrin

ETA: Names of bathroom shops are quite often along the lines of "Bathrooms Are Us", "The Bathroom Superstore", The Bathroom Warehouse" or "Bathrooms, Bathrooms, Bathrooms, Bathrooms". You get the idea.

There's always on-line shops too. (i.e. www.bathrooms.co.uk)

If yoiu're fitting it yourself, just trundle round as many bathroom places as you can, collect brochures, and draw up a shopping list. I used many different suppliers for mine.

Please don't make me speak to people about this. I literally couldn't care less. It's just baths and that. Please. I cant face a salesman on this. I'll just get bored and walk off.

Please just tell me where to buy things. Please.

Ah, now I understand. Well, in my case when the bathroom needed doing, I left it to my girlfriend and she found someone local who did it. I helped by turning the water off at the appropriate time and turning it back on when the job was done.

No use if you don't have a girlfriend I suppose...

There are usually independent bathroom suppliers in big towns - couple if Coventry for instance. Much cheaper than anything with a flashy showroom but the same stuff, and you can look at it and try it (well, don't take a dump in the showroom) before ordering.

Can't you all stop telling me to do things and just tell me where to buy them from? FFS, some days I don't know why I bother. One of these days I'll stop and then you'll know. really know.

dont care about the make. it's a bath and a toilet.

style should be sort of classical as my house is too old and pokey for contemporary.

size should be as big as possible cos I'm fat.

finish should be finished.

I like the cut of your jib even more. You couldn't just explain this to the wife, could you?
