thought this was the case from the start (xbox and xbox 360), you modify the xbox, and go online and they will find out and ban the machine and in some case erase the hard drive remotely?

Hence why i have never been online with my old xbox.

Not heard of the erasing bit, but it's definately always been the case that chipped XBox's (if caught) got your live account banned. That's why some of them have a switchable chip.

To be honest, that story filled me with so much rage. It's like he's blaming Microsoft for cutting him off because he didn't want to pay for games. By all means chance it, but you can't then complain if you get caught.

Why do people expect to get something for nothing while everybody else pays?

Exactly, my old Xbox was banned from online, then RROD not long after

I had two XBOX's at one point, one modded one original for online use.

Any game that I was playing over and over after a few days I went and brought.

The amount of shoddy games that are brought out and you are expected to pay ~£40 for the privilage of playing twice is far to high IMO. If they brought out games that you could try FOC for a week and then had to buy they would sell many many more.

A few people I know modded their consoles as their kids played them and wrecked the games, so by making copies of all the games they didn't have to shell out £40 for 1 game two or three times.

Pro's & cons to modding & not modding.

Im glad. If I want to play a game, I goes and buys it. If i cant afford it, I wait or borrow a mates copy. If you cant afford to buy the game proper, dont play it. If you can afford, but dont want to, STOP BEING A TIGHT ahole!
