Why can't anyone just do their job anymore ?
Discussion
Two and a half weeks ago I ordered 4 roll-up banners (the 0.8m by 2m type) for a stand I'm organising for the NEC Classic Car Show.
Sent in the artwork - "No problem marshalla, they'll be with you by the end of the week"
Middle of last week "Where are they?" "With the courier, they'll be with you soon" "Can you give me a tracking number?" <silence> "Tracking number please ? " <silence>
Today "Where the f
k are they ? " "The courier's lost them, sorry. We've been having problems with them. I'll gladly make another set for you" "Can you get them to the NEC for 9 a.m. tomorrow ? " "No chance"
FFS! Why didn't you change couriers at the first sign of trouble you idiot ? Why didn't you tell me there might be a problem ? Why couldn't any of you actually do your f
king job properly ? In your situation, I'd drive up personally tomorrow morning to make sure they were there on time. It's called customer service.
So, now I have a stand to fill, one car dropped out due to mechanical failure and no banners to give it any sort of identity.
I blame Blair and Brown.
ETA should have known I was going to have trouble when he used my first name instead of "Sir" or "Mr. Marshalla" or the more correct "Your mightiness"

For things like this I will ALWAYS have a contingency plan...
Sadly you didn't and to be perfectly honest you ran it a tad close to the deadline. Always always always have a back up plan. In my books as soon as they have passed the deadline they have 24 hours and then that's quite literally it. End of.
I'm not saying it was your fault but in another way I am.

You know it had nothing to do with the courier though, right?
I can't believe he even let them get away without providing the name of the courier and the tracking number... Shocking! If you let people get away with murder, then that's exactly what they do. You can get exactly what you want from rubbish companies, provided that you are happy to push them all of the way.

I'm an honest man - I expect others to be honest too - that's obviously where I'm going wrong.

Do you refer to yourself as The Mighty One?Anyway, that kind of BS is the worst, if they rang up and said "hey buddy, we're real busy right now, and we can't do your order" it'd save their skin, and and least let you use someone else instead.
Often they know themselves they can't carry out the order, but decide to pretend for as long as possible in the hope a fairy leaves one in the warehouse.

at which point you immediately smell BS, ask for you money back and use someone else prontoMiddle of last week "Where are they?" "With the courier, they'll be with you soon" "Can you give me a tracking number?" <silence> "Tracking number please ? " <silence>
surely?

If he'd given me a tracking number I might have believed that he'd produced them on time - as things stand, he's had an interest free loan...4nonymous said:

I'm sure that post makes the OP feel much better. In other words "I would have done it better than you".Sadly you didn't and to be perfectly honest you ran it a tad close to the deadline.
