It seems that most families do something a bit strange over the Christmas period.

Like Christmas not being Christmas in The Toad household without the Boxing Day game of Buccaneer, an obscure pirate board game from 70's. My brother nearly always wins but just the tonic when you are stuffed full of pork & turkey.

What's yours?

Haven't got any, as none of my bloody family speak frown

Well apart from pancakes for chrimbo breakie, and designing a plate for Santa.

Usually me going on the girls' team for the annual quiz because the other blokes are too manly. Then beating them at any given game.

My Mother would always insist, and still persists, to make the most disgusting, lumpy gravy of the entire year.

Not really anything bizzare, but the day always follows the same pattern of presents at 7, bacon sarnies at 9, more playing with presents until 12, family arrive, eat at around 3, then just be generally lazy and watch Doctor Who & the Jeremy Clarkson DVD. Then the same thing the next day at my fathers house smile

And my grandmother will always, without fail, start an argument that just does not need to happen.

Out here in Bulgaria the village kids turn up in fancy dress and chant a little ditty while beating the bad spirits out of you with a tinsel wrapped carpet beater, for which you reward them with a coin or sweet. It's quite cute the first half-dozen or so times.....

Silly toys after lunch. The best one so far was the crappiest Chinese Scalextric copy that was set up around everyone's sherry, cheese's and puddings.

great fun.

You should be more worried about eating a pork pie without a crust; because without of crust it's just a ball of sausage meat.

I get up at 5, eat the mini scotch eggs and carrot and drink the sherry and milk we leave for santa and rudolph then back to bed before family wake up.

It's only bizarre as we have no children!!!

Table presents..... actually the highlight of xmas.

A theme is chosen every year and we buy all of us a pressie for under 10 quid. Themes have been bling, free stuff, music etc etc. This years theme is orange.

The more abstract and funny the better.

We then open them during the courses :-)

Same here. Prior to complete fragmentation of the family, Christmas was traditionally a time for a world-class arguing and shouting competition.

Not a tradition I really want to continue.
