Its supposed to have suspension kit and sixpot calipers at the front i believe. Cant be sure they are all like that. All the ones we have had in are though.

To be honest, fair point, well made.

I heard recently that Slaters in Wales had some good deals. Have you tried them?

We have the Monaro so we know fast
The first one already has the sports pack so there would be nothing else we'd want. I just wanted to know what the Bathurst has from standard that the VXR8 doesn't ??

Yeah i've said i prefer the Wortec as i know its slightly better than the Walkinshaw system. The guy really loves the car but has no option but to sell it (we phoned him)
I just wondered if there was alot more to the Bathurst or if its just the name??

Bonnie and Clyde,

Have a look and maybe speak to this company, I know it's a long trudge for you but this is the company I got my car from, they have 2 VXR8's at the mo and are a top company, car's are very well presented and will pay for travelling expenses if your not satisfied with the way the cars are described, from memory the owner has very good contacts Vauxhall and get's hold of a fair few, they always seem to have Monaro VXR's and VXR8's, if nothing else, it's a few more to compare prices against.

I haven't called them but then the last time i went in there the salesman was quite rude so they didn't enter my head. I have just been on there site and they have non advertised.

Nobody has yet asked you - has Stiggy got to you, and you're selling the 'ro???

I thought the Bathurst had bigger brakes and better suspension than the standard R8(and is badged up as a special edition). The white one is new, but I suppose it depends if you can or are prepared to put up with an auto box. I have had a few, but never with such a big engine. I've always found them to be an easy drive, especially in heavy traffic. The other advantage that the police found was that when they were used on advanced driving courses was that they were quicker from A to B as you were able to make more overtakes as you had relatively instant kickdown instead of having to factor in the time it takes to change gear. Perhaps a demo drive in the auto is needed?

Just seen your other thread, Mel. I can breathe again!!!!
Tried to persuade my missus that she needed an R8 a couple of months ago, but she wasn't having any of it. Still think that one of each is a great combination!

Thats what we think. You know we looked at all sorts of cars to fit the bill of what we need from a second car. BMW's, Range Rovers, Audi's RARR RARR RARR. They bored the arse off me. Bang for buck you just cant beat these bad boys.
The strip's gonna be fun next year

The Bathurst has the ap brakes, and WP adjustable coilovers.. Plus some nasty bonnet stripes that I personally chose to remove. Having driven both the auto and manual, both Bathurst and STD, I would recommend the bathurst manual, and would wait for one. The suspension makes a HUGE difference to the handling. Alternatively get a STD manual and change the suspension and brakes! Personally I found the auto far less involving, with the STD auto set-up easy to confuse when pressing on. let me know if you want anymore info.. rotate

Thanks for that Does the bathurst not have a walkinshaw exhaust??? I know the S has the bimodal exhaust but its the Bathurst i needed to know abot. I also thought the LS3 VXR8's had huge brakes as standard???
