Phone/ipod integration

Hey,
I'm sure this has been raised many times before so please redirect me.
I have a 05 A3 sportback with standard Concert II HU.
I've been looking at options for phone/ipod (may get a iphone) integration.
Considering the parrot mki9200 or similar.
The local independent car audio guys said that Audi's are a bit of a b
k ache to do installs on because the amp is in the boot and the above kit requires an additional cable running the length of the car from HU to amp.
They want £100 for the cable and a total of £350 for the parrot kit, cable and installation.
First; is this correct (I'm sure it is but I’m clutching at straws here)?
secondly; any alternative options which will give decent functionality/performance?

First problem I've found with the MKi 9200 is audio quality - we installed a few but stopped bothering, they're not up to much at all. The phone portion of the kit is fine as it always is with a Parrot but the iPod portion is dire. Sounds like you're listening to an 8 track or something!
