I just heard tonight that there are plans afoot to sell off Heatherwood hospital, and migrate all services to Wexham park, so they can sell off the land and cash in.

If you disagree with this, then please do sign the petition.

And even if you're not local - sign it anyway. This is pretty disgusting mad

Both of my kids were born there, also finished 6 months of physio earlier this year - can't let this happen - Wexham is not an option for most people local to Heatherwood....

Yep, signed too. This is absurd. Ascot is miles from Wexham Park. And Wexham Park already has massive problems with parking, adding the Heatherwood "customers" as well would make things a lot worse. Assuming they could ever get appointments, that is.

Interesting to hear it is happening there as well - a similar thing is happening in High Wycombe, where A&E, child specialist and mid wife led births have all moved to Stoke Mandeville, with a further service soon to be announced to move as well. It seems crazy that a town the size of High Wycombe does not have it's own A&E ward. People from the East side of town now have to battle across Wycombe, then to Stoke Mandeville, 15 miles away.

This appears to be happening nationwide - 'super hospitals' are being created that house the majority of wards, including all specialists, then surrounding hospitals just offer less critical services. Meaning the people that depend on the critical services will need to travel. Obviously it is only a matter of time before something bad happens (patient does not reach care in time) before anything would be done.

Signed as well.

Heatherwood have been fantastic with post natal checks with Ben, and also provide a very useful out-of-hours GP drop-in surgery which we've used a couple of times, most notably when karen was pregnant...

Wexham is just horrific and bloody miles away too...
