XUD9 engine

i was just wondering if anyone knows if the XUD9 engine out of the peugeot 306 will go straight into the 205. i currently have a 1.9td the same as a 306 but the pictures iv seen of the 306 engine look slightly different around the thermostat.

the head on my car has a small crack in it so thought it would be better to change the engine as i don't know how long its going to last and its done quite high millage.

Engines the same,it may just mean swapping a few housings(went from alloy to plastic)around from one lump to the other,many moons ago fitted a 93 bx engine into a 86 305 no problems only bits to swap over
