I'm looking to pick up a Z4m roadster at the weekend but have a couple of questions:

What is extended storage?
do all models have xenons/bi-xenons?
does the sat nav telematics actually work in the uk with google maps, and if so does it do anything else?

thanks

Andy

storage pack is cup holders, and a net in the passenger footwell and boot pocket

all the M's have xenons smile

i'm not sure what you mean about the telematics thing? i thought telematics was just to do with the BMW Assist

i'm not sure myself smile

having looked it up on the internet, i was under the impression that you could send preplanned routes and telephone numbers and postcodes direct from googlemaps to the car. (have a look under the send option in google maps)

The car i'm looking at has pro nav with dsp and bluetooth. I have an Iphone so what would be the best way to connect it to the car so that i can use both the phone and the ipod side of it?

With the BMW connected drive http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/connecteddrive/0,,___,0... subscription you can indeed send addresses in UK to the car Nav system from google maps. works fine - tho sometimes you need to delete a previous message/text on the system to get it to download the latest one you've sent.

is it vfm at 140 a year....? depends on many things I guess

You won't be able to use the ipod to play music through bluetooth - that's phone function only (it works really well with the top up or down). You'll need another solution to use the ipod to play music, you can get a pro kit to do this and display tracks etc through the nav or just use an aux connection/fm transmitter if the car doesn't have aux.

My z4mr doesn't have an aux plug so I just use an fm transmitter which works fine (even in london) but your mileage may vary. The best solution is the intravee kit (see the z4 forums) which is the best ipod connection kit for this car. In reality if you get either vehicle you'll find you rarely bother with the stereo except on long trips, the sound of that engine is music to the ears!

With the inteavee, can I connect my iPhone via Bluetooth and play music from it via the inteavee at the same time?

it might have the aux input - worth looking under the dash (under the heater controls) to see if it has one.

Worth asking that question here:

I couldn't agree more !! Stereo ruins the sound of the car .... It is definitely one of those cars where you really do want to listen to the engine biggrin

Yes, you can. However, my Alpine converter didn't allow me to charge the iPhone (it says "unsupported accessory" or similar).

Intravee is fiddly to install on the Z4, especially if you have a 6-CD changer and nav, because you have to take the whole centre section out. It's not a hard job, just time consuming .. but once it's in it works great!

It's included free when the car is new. BMW quoted me £120 to renew it on the car I just bought. I said thanks but no.

You can buy a small adapter from Apple (made by a co called Schrothe or something like that?) for about £20 which will sort this out.
