Hi all

My first venture into your neck of the woods as I am thinking of swapping cars and getting a Cerbera.
I have read back through the last 100 or so pages from this forum and have gathered quite a bit of info and am pretty sure I want a V8 preffrably a 4.5 but should the right 4.2 show at the right time and right price I would not be put off.
Obviously from my reading I have realised that the chassis is one of the biggest things to look out for so I intend to get a PPI done first, can anyone reccomend me someone to do one in the Chichester area? I am aware of Fernhust TVR who are localish are they any good?
Hopfully I will have about 12k to spend but it prob won't be until next year now as I have to sell my current Porka first, see below.
Is there any one local to me? if so I would love to have a beer/natter and pick your brains for Cerbra knowlege?

Cheers Paul

I have bought the following from Fernies over the last few years

1998 Cerb 4.5
2001 Griff SE
2001 Red Rose Tuscan
2005 Sagaris

I would recommend them without question, good people to do deal with and Brian in the workshop is first rate.

Be prepared to travel for the right car, as such the inspection may justify being carried out by someone local to the car rather than local to you - best thing is to pinpoint some cars when you are ready and post them up for recommendations etc as very likely someone on here will know the cars in question. At that time recommendations for indies who are close can be suggested.

Good luck with the sale of the pork..... nice looking car ....(but you didn't hear me say that roight)

Being new to all this, can i ask whether it is good form to discuss fellow PH members cars on the forum, i would assume not, but am maybe being naive, if it's okay i may have a question to post

If it's for sale then why not?
But if you have read those pages, then you'll know a well known car was recently sold and the new owner had a few problems. So it's no guarantee, cars are all the same, they occasionally go wrong!

My car recent MOT. Cost to get through £257! Not bad for a year of Cerb ownership!

Yep no real reason why cars can't be discussed and knowledge about them shared - not suggesting open season on tearing another guys car to shreds in public, just informed knowledge about prior owners etc - as much about being able to highlight known good ones rather than trashing the bad. If there is more sensitive information people may know and wish to impart then that can always be PM'ed over offline to a potential buyer after all - as long as common sense is used it is usually fine.

Hi, thanks for the replys. I Had not really thought the PPI thing through, bloody obvious I will need to travel to look at different carsrolleyes
I prob won't start to activly sell my car until next year as we're n the middle of building an extension and have our 1st baby due in april so V busy at the mo, thanks for the heads up greenm but a bit to soon(and a bit over budget)for me.
I intend to use the time until then doing as much research as possible so Skidoo and Lee I may well like the oppatunity to have a chat and cast my eye over your cars if possible?

I'm glad some of you like the Porka, please don't be embarassed, feel free to make me an offer;)

Hello again, bit of an update. I have someone interested in the Porka now so with a bit of luck she may be gone early next year, soooo the hunt may begin soon, I can't wait!

Will anyone on here be going to goodwood on sunday? It would be great to meet some of you and I would really like to have a chat about and maybe a sit a car?

Cheers

Paul
