Saw 2012 last night. Obviously most people will go and see it for the Cgi destruction rather than the script and acting and on the Cgi front, not too bad, but some glaring quality issues.

However in terms of a film, its gash. Actually quite horrible with a god awful script, repetitive ‘saved in the nick of time’ scenes, terrible plot and characterisation, stereotypical storyline and casting and generally ,cgi apart, a terrible film.

Just in case you follow stereotypes:

Friendly yapping dog saved – check
Government acting naughty – check
Man not spoken to kids for a while in bad parent musing – check
Ability to dodge every single death resulting injury whilst all around you die horribly – check.
Man who cant fly plane can suddenly fly plane easily – check
Cars leaping massive jumps with no damage – check
Product Placement – check (Sony Laptop anyone?)
Minor scientist suddenly gets promoted to chief adviser – check
Comical Russian accents – check

And it has the worst final line in any film I have ever seen (and I quote verbatim):

Kid: “No more pull ups”
Dad: “Nice”

Cue credits….

Seriously.

CGI: 7.5/10
Film: 1 out of 10.
Overall: 3/10 if being charitable.

saw this last night. not at all great, which is a pity for some of the mostly excellent cast.

see above for the cliche's.

i nearly left during the antonov scene, laughable.

effects pretty good fo rthe most part, but as for empathy for the charachters, the script let them all down badly pretty much.

3-4/10 at most.

Emmerich is just getting worse and worse isn't he? I was quite looking forward to this but having heard reviews and seen clip it just looks worse and worse! I'd go and see it for the CGI but even some of that looks worse than most dodgy straight to DVD rubbish.

Saw it this afternoon.....a truly terrible film. Even the CGI effects were poor.

Save your money and see something else. Trailer for Green Zone looked good though.

Can't believe I've just paid to watch this filth.

Very very poor indeed.

After spending almost $300 million you would hope the makers could have done a better job.

2/10.

I read the title as:

2012 - Olympics Spoiler Warnings.

I had to read quite far before I realised what it was actually about.
