London trip tomorrow, where to take a 10 year old?
Discussion
A search would help- we did this recently!
The Natural History Museum is better than the Science Museum- far more interactive stuff for both of you. The Museum of London is also very good as it is quite focussed. The London Eye is great if the weather is good.
I wouldn't bother with the London Dungeons; the queues outside can be three hours long. Almost next door are The Monument and the Tower Bridge Experience, both of which are interesting and often overlooked. Going to the very top of St Paul's is also fun (rather wobbly old iron staircases!)

If you're only there for a day then you've got enough to do already, but this is on if you're interested - http://www.lordmayorsshow.org/
Otherwise you could take him to Harrods or Hamleys for a spot of Xmas list recce'ing, Rainforest Cafe for lunch (it's a bit naff and you'll need to book but kids love it)and Chinatown in Soho is always worth a 10 minute wander.
If you're driving down, park in the City of London and get the tube from there.
P.S - Imperial War Museum is a bit of a trek from the Science Museum and I doubt you'll have time to do both in one day. I'd stick with Science/Natural History Museum and do IWM (which is ace) another day.
