I'm sure it's a really touching story but...

... why is this kid scribbling on the sofa with a Biro whilst she sits there blabbing.
It would not be correct of me to make assumptions about this family.

Quite - in the same light we shouldn't wonder quite why she'd left two 3 year olds alone in the car. Yes, I know things can happen in an instant while she opens a gate etc., but it doesn't say how long they were left or why.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/merseyside/8357...
And I'm not sure I fully agree with this statement either: "Ms Williams said her son deserved compensation". Yes, it was an horrific thing to have happen, especially to your child, but "deserved"?

So where does it say why two toddlers were left alone in a car for long enough for that kind of damage to have been done?
The alternative being Mum ignoring the beating? Who keeps a jack inside the car - nasty bit of hardware to be bouncing around in the event of a crash.
"Jay Jones was treated in hospital for a gash to his head"
Doesn't really equate to a 27k pay out in my lay opinion. If it is for her son then I'm sure she would have no issues in having the money placed in a trust fund until he's twenty one. I'm sure he's no need for it at the moment.

Exactly what I was saying to a colleague this morning. Whilst I am sure we all sympathise with the anguish of having an injured child, I saw an interview with the mother this morning and she didn't come accross well. Why were the kids left alone in the car for so long? Why did one of them have access to a car jack? What had happened to make one of them feel the need to swing a car jack? All things that I think need answering before they start spending the compensation on fags and beer!

Ahh the inhabitants of the Ford/Beechwood/Whatever its called estate, what a charming bunch. Given the vast amount of advertising that Kirwans have floating around the Mersey facing side of the Wirral, its hardly supprising to see them representing the interest of the victim.
They wont be able to use the cash to open a tanning salon as all the dealers and pimps seem to have a monopoly on them (including one rather sad individual who sent his "partner" out onto the streets to fund his first one!)
never ceases to put a warm feeling in my heart every time I sign my council tax cheque, knowing that almost every penny will be spent on either pensions or the "orange people" with their hands constantly out demanding something for nothing.

David Kirwan is apparently running for MP at the next GE, just when you thought nobody could be worse than labour!

I didn’t, but thanks for that, my opinion solicitors and barristers has always been fairly low, so I'm really not supprissed (have met many, but only one or two didn’t make me want to check my gold fillings were still there afterwards!)

When we were kids, my "pal" accidently put a pick in my head just above my eye, 7 stitches later, and best of pals.
All we hear these days is "COMPENSATION", whilst there is a case for being compensated, I think the mother is just jumping on the gravy train for this one, and will she keep it for the kid?
No doubt she will be selling her story to a daily rag next.
