mk 3 golf ignition barrel removal help!!!!

Hi guys n galls,
My sisters got a n reg mk 3 golf cabriolet. The ignition barrel is worn so it makes the windows and power hood work intermitttently.

I have got a new barrel and ignition key from vw but cant get the old one out????

I can see on the new one that there is a clip that needs to be released to get the old one out but cant see how to do it???? Looks like there might be a clip out pannel on the side of the steering lock mechanism????

Dont want to break it with it being friday 13th and that so thought i'd ask first!!!

I'm not trying to get the whole lock off, just the steering barrel out, thanks
