Good Afternoon all,

Just wondered if anyone has experienced similar, and if so whether its a fault or something that's just to be lived with.

Car is a 2002 E46 325Ci Sport.

Doesn't matter whether car has just been started in the morning or has been running for an hour or so etc...

First couple of mm or so of throttle travel causes the revs to dip. Not to the point where car stalls, but enough to prompt you to give it a little more... especially when maneuvering.

Had the car almost 2 years now, and while it's not a massive headache, just wondered if it's the norm.

With bonnet up and door open, leaning over windscreen to try and notice anything, almost sounds like air escaping/whooshing sound?? (standard air filter set up).

Car has been serviced twice, all hoses checked, and no fault codes appear??

Any ideas??

Thanks

Check the breather hoses and vacuum pipes. Before I had mine the chap was saying the car did something similar to this, 3 people looked at it and couldn't find a fault, and the forth sprayed the hoses/pipes with water and found the hidden split in a pipe in minutes.

Thanks gents..

I was convinced it was an air leak.. But hate to disagree with a 'professional' in front of them.

Will give the spray method a go tomorrow!!

As for the whoosing sound - that's probably just a very clean inlet manifold. If you blip the throttle, you probably hear it squeek a bit.
Ah, the old squeaky clean inlet manifold...
