As title, Johnny & I are on our way to Manchester for the UFC and looking for suggestions where we can enjoy a night out avoiding four levels of cheesey wk fest.

Eclectic music tastes, somewhere alternative, sophisticated, fairly lively and, well, just nice.

We have an appartment at The Place, but are willing to travel within reason.

Thanks in advance.

As real as it gets.

So, somewhere sophisticated before going to the UFC.....

Who said Northern birds aren't classy?

You might as well stay around Piccadilly Gardens and not bother going to the UFC - it's not that sophisticated but the standard of violence will be much better than the UFC.

I can definately vouch for the Northern Quarter. I'd recommend Trof, Bluu, TV21 and the Bay Horse if you want somewhere a bit more chilled out. I normally avoid the Walrus, generally, rammed with a poor choice of overpriced beer!

I'm just about to leave work and head to Trof as a matter of fact!

Do you have something personal against the M3 Evo? I love her wink

Thanks for suggestions so far. I seem to recall having frequented the Northern Quarter of which you speak some 15 years ago!

I'm not Northern. I'll have you know i'm originally from Cheltenham, but now live in a well respected country village near Cambridge and am really rather posh...

Just not averse to a little bit of violence and hot sweaty men every now and then wink

And the 'action in the ring' is a lot more brutal than the UFC...

Well, they are going to see blokes being beaten around the ring.
