Instead of your 100 amp fuse try a 40 amp....

Well, thats what the previous owner, garage, or should i say complete donkey did 
.
In fact, why not just lay three on top of each other....oh, and dont bother to tighten it up very well just for some fun
yup, three 40 amp strip fuses lay one on top of another in the big fuse holder, the nut just about hanging on. I noticed my battery wasnt showing above 12V during engine running so investigated. I was a bit horrified
Now, i know theoretically no real harm done, but there could of been...melted fuses, arcing etc, could have been horrble. I would love to
whoever did it.
To rub salt in the wound, the air box wasnt aligned top to bottom, so instead of undoing one bloody bolt and aligning properly, it had just been jammed shut and crack the very edge of the air filter rubber surround grrr
Had to re-seal and align properly...
Winds me up, bloody shoddy work, outright foolishness and plain lazy.
There are two plus's to all of this though
a) My alternator is now running again

I had a hot all day run in Spain earlier this year with the motor cooling fans running constantly.
Parked up at the end of the day and found that the fuse had been so hot it had burnt a hole in the carpet and the shoe laying next to it.
Dont know what yours would have done with a dodgy connection and possible 120 amps.
Glad you found it before any harm done.

On my first Tuscan, my wife bought it for me while I was away. When I got home I found that one of the fans was running continuously. It turned out to be that one of the pins of the fan relay had been bent over and a permanent 12v supply connected to the bent pin.
All that so that they didnt have to change the thermostat on cylinder 5 !!!

I've just discovered that mine didn't have any coolant in it - just plain water. It was checked over and MOT'd in March by one well known dealer, previous to that it was serviced by a very well known indy, and before that by the supplying dealer who we all now know to be a thief.
The Indy had also butchered a repair to the diff pinion seal by ramming a screwdriver into it.

I think we have something in common!! Guess who took the engine out and put the engine back in??Yup...that same dealer.
So, yeah, whilst Str8 six did the full rebuild, he didnt do the rest. The airbox, fuses etc would have been done by the oh so wonderful dealer. I also paid for two new engine mounts too whilst the engine was out(sent straight to them from TVRCarparts), whats the betting they arent on there!
I would put money on where the shoddy workmanship occured.
I am slowly going round the car to put right any other bodges...

Jason at Str8 six is a fabulous guy, very knowledgeable and will say it like it is...
No need to avoid name and shame rules the dealer has gone bust, Dream Machines.
Im not saying it was them, i have no proof, but read around and make your own mind up!
Im just glad its fixed and i didnt need a new alternator!
