What's going on with the dragster with the driver cell at the front? What benefit does that achieve?

I don´t know but it´s the ugliest car i have ever seen on a dragstrip.

Looks like someone had the rear half of a TAD and spare Junior dragster

clever if you think about it

1. The drivers weight is right out front, no nose weight needed, better weight distribution
2. The safety factor :- hes a good walk from the noisy/hot/fast moving bits
3. Plenty of room for luggage
4. Steering rods are shorter, so less flex?


and he can progessively shorten it should he wish, PLUS - maybe he can put 4 or more passenger seats in it

I think that cars been around awhile, seem to remember first seeing it in national dragster maybe 10 years ago? Not had any particularly noticeable success that I've read about

Wouldn't fancy punting the barrier in it myself!

Adams right, that cars been about for years. There are also a few Super Comp cars about like this. I suppose they can judge the stripe better...

a hit is a hit - at any angle, and its a wise man who can predict he wont be going backwards into a barrier.........
